2001年のメスカレロスのアルバム。ジョー自身がジョーのルーツ・ミュージックをレコーディングしたんだって気がする。トルコに生まれて、少年時代にインドとメキシコで過ごして、青年時代にディランやストーンズに触れて、自分自身ではパンクロックをやったジョーの。

多分、このアルバムのキーワードは文化の多様性。詩も音楽も、そしてアルバムタイトルも、何か特定の方向を押し付けるんじゃなくって、「おい、世界にはいろんなもんがあるんだぜ、ちょっと見てこいよ」と呼びかけるような、そんな感じ。

Bhindi Bhageeで歌うのは、実はロンドンがそんな世界の縮図だってこと。この曲は、めちゃくちゃ楽しい。詩も曲も。

それからジョー自身が、自分のもってたＢＢＣワールド・サービスの番組London Callingで、自分の見てきた世界の像を発信してた。そう、タイトル曲のGlobal a Go Goだ。ちなみに、この曲、ロジャー・ダルトリーがバックコーラスつけてたりする。
